Ethically Evaluative Photo
Ethically Evaluative Photo

Part 1 - Reflect On Your Work

Why do you think this is your most successful image?

I think this is my most successful image because there is a deep and clear message about body positivity. “Eat Less” and “Love Yourself More” make people stop and think, which is what I wanted.

What was the most challenging aspect of this assignment? The most challenging part was coming up with an idea that was meaningful but simple enough to show in a photo and for viewers to understand. I wanted the message to be powerful without needing a lot of explanation.

What will you do in future assignments to create stronger images?

In future assignments, I will focus more on planning my shots and consider thinking about framing and lighting. I also want to improve on coming up with bigger and deeper ideas through photography.

Hi Abigail! I really love the message behind your ethically evaluative photo. The contrast between “Eat Less” and “Love Yourself More” is so powerful, and the side-by-side layout makes the emotional impact even stronger. It’s such a clear example of how photography, no matter how simple or intricate the picture or message is, can very strongly challenge harmful narratives and promote powerful emotions like positivity and self-love. Great job!
